Our Commitment to Online Safety

At Oak Field Primary School  we prioritise the safety and well-being of our pupils, both offline and online. As technology becomes an integral part of learning and daily life, it’s essential to equip our children with the knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.

Teaching Online Safety

We integrate online safety education into our curriculum, ensuring that pupils understand how to:

  • Protect their personal information

  • Recognise and report inappropriate content

  • Understand the importance of respectful online communication

  • Identify potential online risks and know how to respond

Our teaching resources are aligned with Curriculum for Wales and  the Digital Competence Framework (DCF) https://hwb.gov.wales/curriculum-for-wales/cross-curricular-skills-frameworks/digital-competence-framework

We encourage parents and carers to engage in their children’s online activities and to utilise the following resources:

Our Online Safety Policies

Our school’s online safety policies are developed in line with the Welsh Government’s recommendations and the 360 Safe Cymru framework. These policies are regularly reviewed to adapt to the evolving digital landscape.

Reporting Concerns

If you have any concerns about your child’s online safety or encounter any online issues, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead Mrs Bladon.

For additional support, the Hwb platform provides guidance on reporting online safety concerns. https://hwb.gov.wales/keeping-safe-online/report-an-online-issue

By working together, we can ensure that our children enjoy the benefits of the digital world while staying safe and informed
