Wellbeing at Oak Field Primary School

At Oak Field, we aim to build a caring and inclusive community where everyone feels they belong and is supported to thrive. Wellbeing is central to this vision, as it influences how we connect with one another, how we learn, and how we grow together. The everyday ethos and approach we take as a school directly impacts the wellbeing of our whole community. That’s why we embed wellbeing into our strategic goals. These include: being the best we can be, working together as one team, and looking after ourselves and each other.

The five ways to well-being are:

Connect – connect with people around you.

Be active – find an activity that you enjoy and make it a part of your life.

Keep Learning – learning new skills can give you a sense of achievement and a new confidence.

Give to others – give to those in need or even giving a smile, a thank you or a kind word.

Be mindful – be more aware of the present moment, including your thoughts and feelings, your body and the world around you.

As a school, we offer lots of provision to support our learners in meeting their individual needs. This includes Nurture Breakfast, ELSA groups, lunchtime/after school clubs and wellbeing interventions. Our staff are trained to be able to deliver these sessions to our learners. We are also looking to up-skill ourselves to ensure we are continuing to support our learners, emotionally, mentally and physically.
